So much truth to be found in this teen classic! Aren’t we all misunderstood? I think some of us are just more aware of being misunderstood than others. I find it particularly difficult being a woman in the “christian” world of the church sub-culture. It is in this context that I often feel the most misunderstood and ousted. Great post!

We unfairly label ourselves, and put ourselves in a box, and then we get confused as we seem to jump from box to box and label to label as we seek to understand our multi-facetedness. Phew! I think that this is one good thing about growing older…we learn to love and embrace the parts of self that just “pop out of nowhere”, and start to delight in the truth that we are all full of surprises!
